Write from Dictation

Feeds Listening and Writing at once. Every correct word scores on its own, so a half-remembered sentence still earns marks. Play once, type what you heard, then score it.

Watch: this task sits at the very end of the exam, when you are tired. Sloppy typing here leaks Listening and Writing points at the same time. Guard your energy for it.

Feeds listening + speaking

Repeat Sentence

Capture meaning and structure, not isolated words. Reproduce the content words with confident rhythm — a fluent near-miss outscores a hesitant, exact reconstruction.

Play once only. Replaying trains a skill the exam will not give you.

On playback, check: did you start the instant the tone would have sounded? Any filled pauses? Any word endings clipped? Those three cost more than a missed word.

Delivery mechanics

Read Aloud

Chunk the sentence into phrases during prep. Then: even pace, clear word endings, never restart. If you stumble, carry on — a restart costs far more than a stumble.

00:35

Play your recording back every single time. You cannot fix a delivery habit you have not heard.

Self-review checklist: pace steady throughout · final consonants audible · no "um" or "uh" · no spoken self-correction · no restart.

Form rules that can zero a task

Timed Writing

The meter shows the valid band. Outside it, quality stops mattering — the task can score zero no matter how well written it is. Get the count reflexive here so you never check it under exam pressure.

Error Log

Log every mistake with a category. After a week, the dominant category is your real problem — and it is usually not the skill you assumed. Fix the category, not the task.

Mock Scores

Superior needs 79 in every band. There is no averaging — one weak band sinks the whole claim. After each mock, the lowest band tells you where the next block of hours goes.
